Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. ANAMBRA PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER EMERGES 2017 NIGERIA BEST TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

   Mr Okodo Nwoye, of Central School Abagana, in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state won the award organized by the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.
Announcing his selection, the Director, Education Support Services in the Ministry, Mrs J. N Ibeh writing on behalf of the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu said that the award presentation ceremony will hold on Thursday, 5th of October 2017 at Eagle Square, Abuja during the World Teachers' Day celebration.
Nwoye's victory falls in line with the footsteps of the state born Roseline Nkemdilim Obi, a teacher at Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha who won the maiden edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Award in 2015.
Speaking to ABS, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha said she is proud of Mr Nwoye and all the other hardworking teachers and staff in the State's Education System.Commissioner Omenugha explained that the national recognition of one of their teachers, is a clear manifestation of the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in the Education Sector aimed at sustaining excellence and high standards in the state.
