 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.        The new counsel for Senator Joshua Dariye, Kanu Agabi, SAN, finally closed the case of the defence, on October 10, 2017 bringing to a close a defence that began on June 10, 2016.
Agabi who was used by Dariye to replace G.S. Pwul, SAN, his former counsel who withdrew in March, told Justice Adebukola Banjoko, that the defence was ready to address the court.“My lord, I am pleased to inform your lordship that we are closing the case for the defence and will like to address you,” Agabi said.The prosecution, led by O.A. Atolagbe, raised no objections.“We have no objection to that, and we are also grateful to address your lordship,” Atolagbe said.Atolagbe, thereafter, urged the court to vacate a subsisting order, based on the request of the defence when it was led by Pwul, asking for the recall of the first prosecution witness, Musa Sunday, an EFCC operative, who was also present in court.The defence raised no objections to the oral application of the prosecution.
