 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

AIRPORT SECURITY: BAUCHI STATE GOVERNMENT SIGNS MoU WITH THE NIGERIAN AIR FORCE.{PHOTOS}

        The Bauchi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on the dual usage of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi. The signing of the MoU took place on 26 October 2017 at the Headquarters of the NAF Special Operations Command Bauchi. The MoU would provide the legal framework necessary to enable the NAF contribute to the security of the Airport. Besides, it would provide professional services necessary for the day-to-day operation of the Airport.
Signing the MoU on behalf of the NAF, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Kaita, stated that the MoU further underscores the deep and cordial relationship between the Bauchi State Government and the NAF to ensure safe operation of flights in and out of Bauchi. According to the AOC, the MoU, which is to the benefit of the citizens of Bauchi State and other users of the airport, would also enhance civil-military relations. The AOC also used the opportunity to acknowledge the immense support the NAF has been enjoying from the State Government since the establishment of the Command. In addition, he reiterated the NAF’s commitment to working with the Bauchi State Government and all stakeholders in the areas of security.
The Bauchi State Government was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Nadada Umar, who expressed delight and absolute confidence in the NAF’s ability to secure the Airport. Also in attendance was the Chief of Staff to the Bauchi State Government, Alhaji Abdu Sule Katagum.
