BRICS SUMMIT: NIGERIA SEEKS STRONGER GLOBAL SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATION IN NEW DELHI, INDIA Nigeria reaffirmes its resolve to stronger cooperation with BRICS nations and the Global South, as the bloc marks 20 years since its formation. This is at the 18th BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting chaired by India’s External Affairs Minister, in New Delhi. Representing the Federal Government at the high-level meeting, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Umar Ahmed Dunoma, described BRICS as a vital platform for promoting cooperation, innovation, resilience, and sustainable development among emerging economies. He expressed Nigeria’s readiness to deepen collaboration, highlighting ongoing economic reforms to reduce oil dependence and boost agriculture, manufacturing, and services.
