 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. EXERCISE UBIAK-ISIN 2017: ARMED FORCES COMMAND IS CONDUCTING A FIELD EXERCISE 29TH NOV-9 DEC 2017 IN KADUNA.

      The Armed Forces Command and Staff College is conducting a field exercise between 29 Nov – 9 Dec 2017 in Labar, Dunki and Sabon Birni general area of Kaduna State. During the period, there will be massive movement of military personnel and equipment to and fro the area. Also, there will be sounds of explosives and gun shots.
In view of this, the general public especially people living around the exercise area are advised to remain calm and not to panic on sighting movement of troops and equipment or hearing sound of explosives and small arms. While necessary preventive measures have been put in place for the general security and safety of the area, the general public is equally implored to keep off the vicinity of the exercise area during the period.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
