  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. OGUN STATE TREASURY BOARD MEETING WILL HOLD 9-10TH OF NOVEMBER.

    The Ogun State Treasury Board Meeting on 2018 Budget estimate will hold between Thursday November 9 and Friday November 10, 2017 at the Conference Hall, Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
A release signed by Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms. Adenrele Adesina, said the meeting would consider the 2018 Advance Proposals and Draft Estimates submitted by Ministries, Department and Agencies of government in the State.
The release added that the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun would preside over the two day meeting, which begins at 12noon on Thursday and 9.00am on Friday, adding that members of the State Executive Councils, Special Advisers, Accounting Officers and other relevant officers from MDAs were expected to be at the event.She enjoined all participants to be seated 30 minutes before the commencement of the event each day.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
