  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us.        The President's plane landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport,Enugu,at 10.30am.From there the President proceeded to Abakaliki,to begin his 2-day working visit to Ebonyi and Anambra States.On arrival in Abakaliki,Ebonyi State,President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated a number of road Projects,including two flyovers on the section of the African Trans-Saharan Highway that runs between Enugu and Cameroon.Governor of Enugu State,Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for making a brief stop-over to greet Nigerians living in Enugu State.''I am overwhelmed with joy over the show of love and solidarity of Enugu residents to our admirable and loving President as he visits the South-East,which Enugu State is the capital of the zone''.Earlier,the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State,Mr Mohammed Danmallam,said that the police had put adequate security arrangement for the brief hosting of Mr President in Enugu.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
