  The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Rivers State Police Command, demanding a public apology for the assault on five journalists during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt. Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. In a statement jointly signed by Council Chairman Comrade Paul Bazia and Secretary Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, the NUJ condemned the police actions as “unprovoked, barbaric, and inhuman,” calling for the immediate identification and prosecution of the officers involved. “The NUJ, as a watchdog of society, will not sit idly by while media practitioners are subjected to barbarism and brutality. TURKEY THIEVES CAUGHT AND FLOGGED IN NNOBI, ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}

         As a popular saying goes, Everyday for the thief one day for the owner of the house.According to a report, these 2 men pictured below have been stealing turkeys from a farmer who rears them.Unknown to the thieves, the man set a trap for them. He pretended as if he was leaving the house but sneaked back through his backyard and kept vigilance of the compound.As expected, they crept into the compound through a dilapidated part of the fence, stole two turkeys and made their was to the Ehulu market to sell them.He followed them all the way to the market where he raised alarm.They were apprehended and flogged mercilessly.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
