 SGBV: LAGOS DSVA TAKES ADVOCACY TO IKEJA RESIDENTS' DOORSTEPS The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) Community Engagement team has spearheaded an impactful door-to-door sensitization campaign across the Ikeja Local Government Area recently. The initiative aims to significantly raise awareness about the critical issues of sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and cultivate a strong culture of zero tolerance within the community. The Onilekere Community Development Association (CDA) played a vital role in the campaign's success. Community leaders actively participated, receiving comprehensive Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and thorough briefings on the multifaceted nature of SGBV and the established effective reporting mechanisms.       According to a WhatsApp user identified as TM who posted in a group I belong to few hours ago a photo with the caption ''Please let's look at the picture.If anyone knows the family.The embassy in France needs their contact.She was found dead this morning in her home,and will be buried by thursday if no family member comes forward''.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
