  Nigerian Police Officer In Kaduna Threatens Reprisal Attack On Southerners In North Over Edo Killings A police officer from Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has threatening reprisal attacks on southerners living in northern Nigeria. Dan-Taki's comment came in response to the killing of 16 northerners in Uromi, Edo State. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Dan-Taki, through a Facebook post, swore in the name of God, declaring that northerners in the north must take action against southerners.  He further warned that southerners had forgotten that their families were living in the north, vowing that "within one week, the southerners shall see the result." PRESIDENT BUHARI PRESIDES OVER FEC MEETING TODAY+SOME MINISTERS GAVE PRESS BRIEFING AFTER THE MEETING.{PHOTOS}.

        PHOTOS: Today's Weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, State House.
FEC briefing is about to kick off. Minister of Information Lai Mohammed is presiding and also addressing the press are Ministers of Water Resources, Agriculture, Health, and Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing.
Highlights of the briefing:
1.) Ministry of Water Resources- FEC approved a memo for the completion of an abandoned irrigation project benefiting Kano & Jigawa States. This project, abandoned since 2000, is presently at 50% completion and will increase irrigation hectarage in Nigeria by more than 2000 hectares. Expected completion period for this project is 24 months. The irrigation project is one of the 116 large-scale abandoned/uncompleted projects inherited by the Ministry and they are determined to complete all abandoned projects.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
