 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. BENUE TO HOST FIRST AFRICAN FOOD FESTIVAL IN NIGERIA.{PHOTOS}.

    Benue State under the leadership of Governor Samuel Ortom is billed to host the first African Food Festival in Nigeria.
The disclosure was made yesterday during a courtesy call on the Governor by organisers of the African Food Festival led by Ambassador David Ibrahim.
Governor Ortom while addressing the delegation said his administration would key into the festival to positively impact the economy of the state and showcase its potentials to the international community.
The Governor acknowledged the innovativeness with which the event was planned by young men and women, expressing the hope that the festival would add value to the development of the state.
He constituted a committee headed by the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Dennis Ityavyar with some commissioners, special advisers and other key government appointees to liaise with the organisers for a successful festival.
Earlier, leader of the organisers, Ambassador David Ibrahim said Benue was given the hosting right due to its antecedents in food production and success story as food basket of the nation.He enumerated the importance of the festival to include boost in economic activities, building of a food village for the event which would eventually become a tourist center as well as the attraction of about five serving presidents of different countries and investors to the state.More photos below.
