 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East.        Yesterday The Prince of Wales visited Vanuatu to see the work that has been done since natural disaster Cyclone Pam wreaked devastation on the island.The Prince was greeted by the President of Vanuatu before receiving a salusalu welcome garland.
His Royal Highness was able to meet so many of the island’s residents during his time there with visits including Port Vila Central Hospital and a local handicraft market.
Before departing Vanuatu, The Prince of Wales visited a chief’s nakamal and received a chief title - Mal Menaringmanu - in a traditional ceremony.The Prince planted a “namale fern” to mark the occasion and drank a special “kava” known as the Royal Kava, which is reserved for special occasions and was only last consumed during a visit by The Duke of Edinburgh in 1974.More photos below.
