Putin woos African leaders at showcase summit, says Russia is better partner than 'colonial' West President Vladimir Putin told African leaders on Wednesday that Russia was their best partner, accusing what he cast as a colonial West of still trying ‌to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development, Reuters reported. The Kremlin chief was speaking at the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, a two-day event attended by African leaders and government delegations from 48 countries, during which he will hold one-on-one talks with many of the 22 individual African leaders attending on everything from trade to security, arms deals and grain supplies.      Senate President made this known on social media few hours ago after he shared this photo above with the caption ''Nigeria accounts for 10% of the worlds maternal mortality and 8% for infant mortality. These statistics are unacceptable for a nation like ours. This is why, today, the National Assembly passed the #Budget2018 with the stipulation that 1% of the CRF must be used to fund healthcare across the nation in the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF). We promised, and we have delivered. This is a happy day for those of us who come from the medical profession because this 1% budget towards healthcare will go a long way in helping to build a healthier nation. On behalf of all medical professionals, I want to thank the National Assembly for this''.
