 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain. AGAIN, NDA PASSES OUT 314 EFCC CADETS.{PHOTOS}.

         Months after a first batch of 189 Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Inspectors passed out from the Nigerian Defence Academy, a fresh batch of 314 Detective Superintendent have completed a thirteen - month long training at the Academy and passed out after a very colourful parade at the NDA Ribadu Campus.
This brings the total number of EFCC operatives trained by the Nigerian Defence Academy to 503, both in the Detective Inspector and Detective Superintendent cadre of the EFCC.
Speaking at the Passing Out Parade in honour of the cadets, representative of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim K Idris charged the cadets to see themselves as tools in actualizing the war against corruption in Nigeria. He warned them to resist the temptations that would arise in the course of their service to the nation, noting that their being EFCC operatives doesn't make them immune from prosecution if they falter and take the path of corruption.He further informed them that the only currencies they need in their career are integrity, dedication and the drive to rid Nigeria of corruption.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
