  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. IKERE COMMUNITY AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO OLUSOLA GUBERNATORIAL VICTORY.{PHOTOS}.

     The Traditional ruling council of Ikere- Ekiti has affirmed its commitment towards the victory of its indigene and PDP gubernatorial candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola.
The council comprising the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti and other prominent chiefs paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Ekiti, Dr. Ayodele Fayose today in Ado- Ekiti in a show of solidarity and readiness to ensure that the deputy Governor wins the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.
Referring to the town as one he has a close affinity with, Dr. Ayodele Fayose said it is '' only right that Ikere has a taste of power and I enjoin you all to stretch hands of fellowship to everybody in support of this cause'.
Speaking further, the Governor noted that Nigeria's greatest problem is the wrong people voted into office and thus urged the council members to ensure that every indigene gets a Permanent Voters Card to avail them the opportunity of voting Prof. Kolapo Olusola into office.
The Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, HRM Oba Adejimi Adu Agirilala lauded the Governor's support of one of their sons and assured the governor that Ikere is ready to support him despite all odds.
The Monarch also maintained that the southern part of Ekiti has not been given the opportunity to govern the state saying ' fair is fair, it is only fair that Ekiti South of which Ikere is part of be given the governorship seat'.
In an appeal message, the Chairman of Ikere Ekiti, Hon. Aderemi Ayeni appealed to eligible voters in the state to obtain their PVC's in preparation for the elections.
Prof. Kolapo Olusola, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti state is an indigene of Ikere- Ekiti and the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party who will be competing with other political parties in the state for the position of the Governor of Ekiti.More photos below.
