 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter.       Reggie Lucas, the Grammy-winning musician who played guitar for Miles Davis and later penned and produced some of Madonna's earliest hits, died Saturday at the age of 65.
Madonna made the announcement on social media few hours ago when she posted this photo above with the caption ''« So Sad to hear that Reggie Lucas is Gone.........An important part of my musical past! 🎶♥️🎶♥️🎶♥️RIP 🙏🏼 #gratitude #luckystar ⭐️ » -Madonna''.Lucas' daughter Lisa also confirmed her father's death , adding that he died of complications from heart disease. "Reggie Lucas, my adored and beloved father, passed away early this morning at the age of 65. He made beautiful music, a beautiful family, a beautiful life and I will miss him every single day that I live on this earth," Lisa Lucas tweeted earlier in the day.Lucas wrote and produced one of Madonna's biggest hits, "Borderline," and produced six of the album's eight songs, including "Lucky Star" and "Burning Up."
