  A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has died in Libya. African beauty products   She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.    Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.    According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.   She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.    In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osas’ properties. LAGOS SET FOR U-15 DEAF SPORTS SCHOOL GAMES FROM JUNE 19TH-22ND.

     The Lagos State Sports Commission has concluded all arrangements for the 4th edition of the Under-15 Deaf Sports School Games scheduled for June 19 – 22 at the Agege Township Stadium.
The Games, sponsored by Lagos State Government, will feature three sports performed by the Deaf at the grassroots level – Athletics, Table Tennis and Badminton.
According to the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, the objective of this Competition is to key into the Sports Commission’s Programme of focusing on the development of young talents through discovery, nurturing and training.
He said the Games will also serve to prepare the Athletes for the National Championships slated for later in the year.No fewer than 500 students from 35  Schools across the six Education districts in Lagos State will take part in the Competition.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
