  NINE PEOPLE ARRESTED AS CULT CLASH ROCKS BENUE BURIAL CEREMONY  PAt least nine suspected cult members have been arrested after a violent clash disrupted a burial ceremony in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident reportedly led to the destruction of homes and valuables, with several individuals still unaccounted for. Tension gripped parts of Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State after a violent clash involving suspected cult groups left properties destroyed and several persons missing. The incident occurred in Abenga, Mbakya, and Mbabur communities during the burial of one Dugeri Terhemen, popularly known as “Black Deal.” According to local sources, the burial ceremony was disrupted by clashes between rival groups, leading to chaos in the affected areas. LAGOS SET FOR U-15 DEAF SPORTS SCHOOL GAMES FROM JUNE 19TH-22ND.

     The Lagos State Sports Commission has concluded all arrangements for the 4th edition of the Under-15 Deaf Sports School Games scheduled for June 19 – 22 at the Agege Township Stadium.
The Games, sponsored by Lagos State Government, will feature three sports performed by the Deaf at the grassroots level – Athletics, Table Tennis and Badminton.
According to the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, the objective of this Competition is to key into the Sports Commission’s Programme of focusing on the development of young talents through discovery, nurturing and training.
He said the Games will also serve to prepare the Athletes for the National Championships slated for later in the year.No fewer than 500 students from 35  Schools across the six Education districts in Lagos State will take part in the Competition.
