 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. 5 FEARED DEAD AS A BOAT FROM CMS TO IKORODU CAPSIZED TODAY.

Image result for lagos boat capsize     About five persons were feared dead when a boat capsized in Lagos on Wednesday evening.An eyewitness told newsmen that the boat was travelling from CMS to Ikorodu.
Bodies of the victim of the accident were brought to the jetty at Ipakodo in Ikorodu, on the outskirts of Lagos.
Lagos State police spokesman, Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident, noted that sixteen persons were rescued.
“The information reaching us from the Marine unit of the command reveals that five persons died in the Boat mishap, while 16 persons were rescued alive, Oti said.
“Our marine team is still combing the waters to see if there are other victims in the water.“The Commissioner of police, CP Imohimi Edgal has ordered the officer in charge of the marine unit to investigate the remote cause of the Boat accident.”
