OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. North East Youth Council (NEYCON)Donates Relief Materials to victims of the Barkin Ladi attack at one of the Internal Displayed peoples camp in Cocin Kassa, barkin ladi LGA of Plateau State.
 The President of the Orgarnisation  A.K.  Aliyu condoled with the people of barkin Ladi and Plateau state, he condemned the act as this is threat to national unity, also called on the government to do more in terms of security,thereby calling on the security agents to bring the perpetrators to book.
Meanwhile he called  on government to assist and  rebuild the affected homes of the villagers and send more security as farm crops are been destroyed.
The relief materials include  bags of rice, bags of garri, detergent, cartons washing soup, cartons maggi, bags of salt, cartons of  biscuits, cartons of juice, bags of semo vita, toiletries, cloths , hand bags and slippers.
He also said that this was funded by His Grace Bishop Rev. Dr. Hillary Dachelem (CMF) catholic bishop of Bauchi Diocese. At the event the Vice President of the organization  Haj. Khadija Hamza who spoke at the presentation of the items sympathize with the people,she said  in situations like this most of the people affected are mostly women and children, she also called on them to steadfast and pray for this Nation more also she called on the young women not to be discouraged but to still continue their school and prayed that this mayhem will not happen again.auchi His Grace Rev. Dr. Hillary Dachelem (CMF) for remembering them at this difficult moment with  this kind gesture of food and other materials through this youth group he also prayed that God continue to bless the Bishop, He went further to  call on the government to do more and support the victims.More photos below.
