 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. SENATOR AKUME CONDOLES WITH PLATEAU GOV. TODAY OVER KILLINGS.{PHOTO}.

      Former Governor of Benue state  and serving Senator representing   Sen George Akume on Friday paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong  over the recent attacks in Gashish Districts and other parts of the Northern Senatorial districts of the state which led to the loss of over 200 lives.
A statement by Emmanuel Nanle ,the director of Press and Public affairs to Gov Lalong Emmanuel Nanle reads that  The Senator commiserated with the entire peace loving people of the state and called on all to rally round the governor as he joins hands with the federal government to put an end to the repeated attacks by marauding herdsmen which he said are not only limited to plateau. He said" this is the time for plateau to stand united and not to allow any political or ethnic difference make citizens loose sight of the common collective battle it must fight for the restoration peace".The statement also reads that the Ex Governor was accompanied by some stakeholders from Benue state.
