 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. SENATOR AKUME CONDOLES WITH PLATEAU GOV. TODAY OVER KILLINGS.{PHOTO}.

      Former Governor of Benue state  and serving Senator representing   Sen George Akume on Friday paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong  over the recent attacks in Gashish Districts and other parts of the Northern Senatorial districts of the state which led to the loss of over 200 lives.
A statement by Emmanuel Nanle ,the director of Press and Public affairs to Gov Lalong Emmanuel Nanle reads that  The Senator commiserated with the entire peace loving people of the state and called on all to rally round the governor as he joins hands with the federal government to put an end to the repeated attacks by marauding herdsmen which he said are not only limited to plateau. He said" this is the time for plateau to stand united and not to allow any political or ethnic difference make citizens loose sight of the common collective battle it must fight for the restoration peace".The statement also reads that the Ex Governor was accompanied by some stakeholders from Benue state.
