FOOTBALL STAKEHOLDERS STAGED A PROTEST AT THE NFF HEADQUARTERS TODAY.

According to sources,Football stakeholders in Nigeria staged a protest at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday over the violation of Supreme Court judgement by the Department of State Security (DSS).
The group is made up of National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF), football pundits and football lovers who are demanding an end to the siege laid by the DSS.
President, NANF, Harrison Jalla who led the protest “No to Impunity, No to DSS Occupation of NFF”, accused the DSS of acting in contrary to Supreme Court ruling.
“We want the directorate of DSS to enforce the Supreme Court rulings and vacate this premises. We are deploying this measure as the first step. By the time we come back here, we will confront them.”Also speaking during the protest, former second vice chairman, Chief Rumson Baribote said that the DSS occupation of the NFF headquarter was unconstitutional as nobody has the right to set aside Supreme Court orders.
“There is no constitutional provision that when the Supreme Court has ruled, anyone has a right to set it aside. I have never seen a situation where a court of competent jurisdiction gave an order and the DSS that supposed to uphold and enforce such ruling are doing contrary.
“We appealed to the security agencies to respect the laws.”.
Following the lingering crisis at the Glass House, world football governing body FIFA yesterday threatened Nigeria with sanctions if Amaju Pinick was not reinstated as NFF president by Monday.
