 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. KWANKWASO SUPPORTERS INVOLVED IN FATAL ACCIDENT ON THEIR WAY TO ABUJA.{PHOTOS}.

       Some Kwankwasiyya members who were travelling to Abuja ahead of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's official declaration on Wednesday, have been involved in a fatal accident. According to reports, the Kwankwaso supporters were on their way to Abuja from Kano state, the senator's area before the tragic incident.
Many passengers were injured and some others feared dead in the crash.
Meanwhile, other supporters have successfully arrived Abuja for Kwankwaso's presidential declaration on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Former Governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso has accused the Federal Government of trying to frustrate his official declaration to run for President earlier slated to hold at the Eagle Square Abuja on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.This was made known in a statement issued by Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
