FG FILES TREASON  CHARGE AGAINST ALLEGED COUP PLOTTERS The Federal  Government has filed a 13-count charge before the Federal High Court, Abuja against a retired Major General, a retired Naval Captain, a serving police inspector, and three others over an alleged coup plot and acts of terrorism. The alleged coup plotters, are scheduled to be arraigned on  April 22, before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja. Those named in the charge are Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana, Captain Erasmus Ochegobia Victor,   Inspector Ahmed Ibrahim, Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni, and Abdulkadir Sani. Also listed as a defendant, but said to be at large, is former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva.      President Muhammadu Buhari received in audience, a delegation of traditional rulers from Abia State, led by His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Isaac Ikonne, Enyi 1 of Aba.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Mr President to reiterate his administration’s commitment to the development of Abia State, and especially the city of Aba.
Recall that just last week, during President Buhari's visit to China to attend the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC2018), he met with executives of one of the largest cotton and garment companies in the world, who will soon establish operations in Aba.
Both the Federal Government and the Abia State Government worked hard jointly on the project, to attract this very important investor. The proposed investment will create thousands of jobs for Aba’s vibrant and creative youths."I am very excited about this project in Aba, and have directed the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment to ensure the investment is actualised within the shortest possible time."- President Muhammadu Buhari.More photos below.
