 Anambra State Government Apprehends 8 Suspects For Extorting More Than 800,000 Thousand Naira From Women In Awka  By Chidinma Ikeanyionwu  Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, has arrested eight suspects for allegedly extorting more than Eight Hundred Thousand Naira from women in Awka.  The arrest was part of state government's resolve in eradicating crimes and corruption in the state.  The exercise came following the directive of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo of an NGO using government's name to extort the sum of twenty thousand naira and above from unsuspecting individuals mostly women in Awka.  When the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner bursted the office complex of the Host Communities of Nigeria Anambra State Chapter located opposite government house Awka, it was discovered that the suspects were operating with the United Bank of Africa staff in opening a current account for the women who must pay

      A journalist, Mabel Aku Banaseh has shared photos of a Ghanaian soldier Lt. Felix Tei Sormenah whose wedding was scheduled to hold on October 6 but will no longer hold following the soldier’s sudden death.
Mabel revealed that the soldier was killed by a careless driver.
Below is what Mabel shared on Facebook,
“I took particular notice of him because he was busy moving up and down to ensure all things go well at my young sister’s wedding reception on April 28, 2018 Lt. Felix Tei Sormenah, a friend of my sister’s husband, was a reflection of what true friendship was on that day It was all joy when he turned up with his fiance at my residence the following day after church service for lunch Lt.”
“Sormenah was billed to marry on October 6, 2018, but something tragic has happened to him He was knocked down by a vehicle. We were all hoping for his speedy recovery after his surgery so we can witness his big day But alas, my sister called me and delivered the chilling news amidst inconsolable tears This fine young man died today before 12 noon.”.“I feel pained. It hurts to lose such a fine brain with a promising future. He left behind his sorrowful parents, a grief stricken fiancée, siblings, family members, friends and loved ones. Felix, your friends, loved ones and those of us who barely knew you are heartbroken. God knows why this has happened. His ways are not our ways. I leave you in the hands of the Creator. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
