 FG MOVES TO CUT EDUCATION COSTS, PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY WITH REUSABLE TEXTBOOK POLICY The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive policy framework aimed at reducing the cost of education for parents, improving learning outcomes, and promoting sustainability in schools through the adoption of reusable, high-quality textbooks and strengthened quality assurance mechanisms. The policy, jointly issued by the Honourable Minister of Education  Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and the Honourable Minister of State for Education Prof Suiwaba Sai'd, forms part of ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s education sector and ease the financial burden on families. The Ministers explained that the policy prioritises the use of standardised, durable textbooks designed to last between four and six years, while expressly prohibiting the bundling of disposable workbooks with textbooks in schools. MEGHAN MARKLE ATTENDED THE OPENING OF A NEW EXHIBITION AT THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS IN LONDON.{PHOTOS}.

     Yesterday evening, The Duchess of Sussex attended the opening of a new exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. ‘Oceania’ celebrates the diverse art from the region – bringing together over 200 pieces from the last 500 years. The Duchess spent time viewing exhibits from regions including New Zealand, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and Australia – countries The Duke and Duchess will visit in October.
Her Royal Highness also watched a short performance of Ngāti Rānana, a Māori cultural group, and met Oceania’s curators and artists as well as the descendants linked to the works displayed.The Royal Academy’s Oceania is open from 29 Sept to 10 Dec 2018.More photos below.
