 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. ADEKUNLE AKINLADE EMERGES AS OGUN APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE .{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Honourable Adekunle Akinlade, current member of House of Representatives (Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, has been declared as the winner of the governorship direct primaries of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Tuesday 2nd October 2018.
Making the declaration today at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Derin Adebiyi said Akinlade polled the highest number of valid votes in the primaries.
The result of the primaries showed that Akinlade scored 190,987 votes, leaving Jimi Lawal in a distant second position with 5,046 votes. Dapo Abiodun garnered 3,648 votes. He was trailed by Abimbola Ashiru with 898 votes, Adegbenga Kaka with 833 votes and Abayomi with 208 votes.
Adebiyi said “in compliance with the constitution of our party and the guidelines released by the National Working Committee (NWC) All Progressives Congress”, the Ogun State chapter had constituted local government and ward election committees that conducted the primaries in the 236 wards of the state.
He disclosed that the Election Committee from the National headquarters of the party in Abuja directed that the governorship primaries should be held on 2nd October 2018 which prompted the closure of all primary and secondary schools by the state government for the exercise.
“Therefore, the governorship primaries were conducted and monitored by the relevant agencies”.
