 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. ADEKUNLE AKINLADE EMERGES AS OGUN APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE .{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Honourable Adekunle Akinlade, current member of House of Representatives (Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, has been declared as the winner of the governorship direct primaries of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Tuesday 2nd October 2018.
Making the declaration today at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Derin Adebiyi said Akinlade polled the highest number of valid votes in the primaries.
The result of the primaries showed that Akinlade scored 190,987 votes, leaving Jimi Lawal in a distant second position with 5,046 votes. Dapo Abiodun garnered 3,648 votes. He was trailed by Abimbola Ashiru with 898 votes, Adegbenga Kaka with 833 votes and Abayomi with 208 votes.
Adebiyi said “in compliance with the constitution of our party and the guidelines released by the National Working Committee (NWC) All Progressives Congress”, the Ogun State chapter had constituted local government and ward election committees that conducted the primaries in the 236 wards of the state.
He disclosed that the Election Committee from the National headquarters of the party in Abuja directed that the governorship primaries should be held on 2nd October 2018 which prompted the closure of all primary and secondary schools by the state government for the exercise.
“Therefore, the governorship primaries were conducted and monitored by the relevant agencies”.
