 Supreme court ruling path to Labour Party's peace and unity - Otti Abia State Governor Alex Otti has welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to remove Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party. According to Governor Otti, this ruling will usher in a new era of peace, unity, and order within the party. The Governor believes the Supreme Court's judgment vindicates the party's leadership, particularly since Abure's National Working Committee tenure had long expired. This led to the establishment of a National Caretaker Committee, headed by Esther Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwokocha, with a vision to foster peace and unity while strengthening the party. The Supreme Court's decision is seen as a step towards restoring peace and unity within the Labour Party, validating the party's leadership and the decision to set up a caretaker committee. ARMY ENCOUNTERS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN BORNO STATE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    1. Troops of Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Mairari in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force while on routine patrol in Mairari and environs on Sunday 7 October 2018 encountered suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
2. A member of the Boko Haram terrorists was neutralised while several others fled into nearby bushes with gunshot injuries during the encounter.
3. Items recovered include:
a. One AK47 rifle.
b. Four Magazines.
c. One 36 Hand Grenade.
d. 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
4. Unfortunately, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force sustained gunshot wound and has since been evacuated to Sector 3 medical facility for attention.
5. The public is therefore advised to report any suspicious movements or activities in their area to security agency for prompt action.
6. You are please requested to disseminate this information through your medium to the general public.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
