  Viola Davis Rejects Target’s Apology Over “Blackface” Halloween Costume Viola Davis has rejected Target’s apology after the retailer pulled a controversial kids’ Halloween costume that critics said evoked racist minstrel and blackface imagery. Target removed the $25 "Kids' Glows Under Blacklight Circus Clown" costume from its Hyde and EEK! Boutique line after backlash over the design’s exaggerated features, which many linked to Jim Crow-era minstrel and blackface tropes. The retailer took down the item and issued an apology, saying they “got this wrong” and acknowledging the deep hurt caused to Black customers and employees. Davis, however, turned down the apology. GOV. ORTOM DIRECTS SEMA TO SUPPLY MORE FOOD TO IDPS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Governor Samuel Ortom has directed the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, to step up food distribution at the various Internally Displaced Persons camps across the state.
He gave the directive today when he received Mrs. Joy Terna, a nursing mother who lost one hand during a Fulani militia herdsmen attack.
Governor Ortom hosted the victim after he read a report of her plight in The Vanguard newspaper of Sunday, 14th October, 2018.
He also directed his personal physician, Dr. Zulum Gbaa, to attend to the victim at the Benue peoples House and give her full medical attention.
He promised to revisit the IDP camps to assess their current conditions with a view to taking more steps to alleviate their sufferings.
The Governor appealed to well meaning individuals, organisations as well as the federal government to assist the IDPs so as to augment the support from the state government.
The victim, Mrs.Terna, informed the Governor that she sustained her injury when the herdsmen attacked and shot her leaving her for dead.
Mrs. Terna who was accompanied by her mother said since the incident took place, she had been at the Abagana camp where they have been sustained by supplies by the Ortom administration.She said her family lost all to the attack and appealed for food and other necessary supplies including shelter.More photos below.
