 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. GOV. ORTOM MEETS EVACUATED UNIJOS STUDENTS TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

     Governor Samuel Ortom this morning met students of the University of Jos who were evacuated by the state government from the school on account of the security situation.
He sympathized with the institution and the Plateau State Government and prayed that the situation would improve.
Governor Ortom stated that as a state which has experienced a similar situation he appreciated the pains and anguish.
He expressed his condolence to those who lost loved ones and urged the Federal Government to rise up to its responsibility of protecting lives and property.
According to him all the agencies for the enforcement of the laws and provision of security belong to the Federal Government.
The Governor suggested the establishment of state police to help tackle the challenge.
He said the security agencies lacked adequate personnel and equipment adding that the provision of security was expensive. 
Governor Ortom stressed that the Ranching Law had come to stay adding that hundreds who have violated it have been arrested and prosecuted with several of them who could not pay fines serving prison terms.
He stated that he left the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, because the Federal Government which the party controls deliberately refused to arrest those responsible for widespread killings in the state.One more photo below.
