 Osun Secures $100m Investment Deal with UK Investors Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced the signing of a $100 million investment deal with British investors, following his recent investment mission to the United Kingdom. According to a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the Memorandum of Understanding—witnessed by the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, Hon. Florence Eshalomi—covers key sectors including agriculture, water, tourism, and free trade zones. The visit also led to a cultural tourism partnership with the British Museum, focusing on Osun’s rich cultural heritage. Additionally, a collaborative framework was established between the Osun State Chamber of Commerce, the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, and their UK counterpart to drive investment and economic development.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
