 PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MS. ADEDAYO BENJAMIN LANIYI AS DG/CEO OF THE MARYAM BABANGIDA NATIONAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT President Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director-General /Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) and  members of the Governing Council  for an initial term of four (4) years. In a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume the appointment which takes effect from April 18, 2026, is in accordance with the provisions of Section 7 (1) and (3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act, 2023.       A former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has written the Abuja division of the Federal high court on his intention to avoid appearing in court for trial until the Prosecution obeys the court’s ruling on his bail. Dasukiis facing trial for alleged illegal possession of firearms and other charges. In the letter, Dasuki states that he has been granted bail by numerous courts which was not obeyed by the federal government.
