 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. ORTOM'S INTERVENTION: NYSC SHELVES SUSPENSION OF CORPS MEMBERS' POSTING TO BENUE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Following Governor Samuel Ortom's intervention, the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has agreed to shelve its planned suspension of corps members' posting to Benue State.
NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Sule Kazaure, gave the assurance today when Governor Ortom visited him at the Corps headquarters in Abuja.
Brigadier General Kazaure commended the Governor for visiting to allay fears of the Corps on the security situation in the state.
He stated that Governor Ortom's visit had not only helped to build confidence the Corps has in the state about the security situation but also strengthened ties between it and the government as well as its people.
Governor Ortom had earlier assured the NYSC Director General that his administration has taken proactive measures to guarantee the safety of all corps members posted to the state.
He said the security situation in Benue has improved significantly with the presence of Operation Whirl Stroke, describing as unnecessary, reports which inflamed fears leading to the suspension of corps members' posting to the state.The Governor reaffirmed the determination of his administration to sustain its collaboration with security agencies to safeguard lives and property.More photos below.
