 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower.     The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall yesterday arrived in Ghana for Day 3 of the West Africa tour. ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡­
The Prince and The Duchess attended a Welcome Ceremony at Jubilee House where they met The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo. Their Royal Highnesses visited the Commonwealth War Graves and were joined by The Earl of Wessex who is visiting Ghana as part of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. Wreaths were laid by Their Royal Highnesses, The President and The First Lady. Her Royal Highness laid three posies to honour Commonwealth countries including Ghana.Their Royal Highnesses went to a British High Commission reception - which celebrated the close relationship the UK has with Ghana but was also held in celebration of The Prince’s 70th birthday this month. More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
