Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court.      Senate President took to his social media few minutes ago to post this photo with the caption ''Today, it was a pleasure to serve as the Chairman of the 7th Zik Lecture Series, held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
The Great Zik was a pioneer of African liberation movements, one of those whose intellectual rigour, vision and mission as well as tenacity helped free Nigeria from the shackles of colonialism, and won us our independence.
Zik did not only move Nigeria, he moved the world. Just the other day, I was reading how, nearly 70 years ago at the British Peace Congress, held in 1949, Chief Azikiwe demanded for Nigeria’s independence; and denounced imperial rule at the seat of imperialism itself.
As we remember Zik today, we must also remind ourselves what we can still do to overcome the challenges of today; and we are inspired to strive for better, and to lift up our beloved country, as Zik once did''.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
