 Nigerian makes US Most Wanted List over $1m fraud A Nigerian, Onoriode Ezewu, has been named on the United States Department of Labour’s first-ever Most Wanted List over allegations of money laundering involving fraudulent unemployment benefit claims worth more than $1m. The department’s Office of Inspector General unveiled the list on its website on Wednesday, naming 16 fugitives wanted in cases involving alleged fraud, identity theft, money laundering, labour trafficking and other offences. According to the agency, the cases collectively involve more than $55m allegedly stolen from American taxpayers. RRS ARRESTS UBER DRIVER'S KILLER,RECOVERS CAR.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected robbers for killing a UBER driver and stealing his Hyundai Elantra car with the registration number EPE 676 EC.
The arrest of the suspects followed a directive from the new State Police boss, Zubairu Muazu to the Commander of the RRS, Olatunji Disu that the culprits should be fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law.
The two suspects: Humble Peter Robert, 33, and Gideon Achibong, 36, were arrested in Aboki Estate, Lekki, Lagos while removing the car parts for sale to a scrap metal dealer.
Investigations by the police revealed that Peter Robert, an ex-convict and a bus conductor, in the company of three others, now at large, had three days before his arrest conspired to hijack a UBER car and sell it off.
Subsequently, the accused persons boarded the deceased's car for a ride to Ikate and were charged N1,000 for the trip. However, before arriving at their destination they killed the driver, pushed him out of the car and drove off to Beach Road, Lekki, where the vehicle was hidden for two days pending the sale to any interested buyer.
According to Peter Robert, “I was sitting in front of the car with the driver. We seized and hit him with stones several times. He complained that he was sick. We pushed him beside the road and went away with the wine-coloured Hyundai Elantra car”.
“We contacted Archibong to assist us in disposing of the car. The buyers we invited indicated that they can only buy the car parts. It was in the process of dismantling the car that RRS patrol vehicle spotted us and arrested two of us. Emma, Dolapo and David are on the run”, he added.
Commenting on the development, the Commissioner of Police Zubairu Muazu stated that investigations were continuing on the case. He noted that the Command would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring that the fleeing suspects are made to face justice.
