 Stop false narratives, media manipulation against Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB – Family warns FG The family of the detained Biafra agitator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has cautioned the Federal Government over alleged false narratives and media manipulation against the detained IPOB leader. The family noted with concern that the false narratives and media manipulation are orchestrated against Kanu to tarnish his image during the trial of terrorism charges filed against him by the same government. In a statement on Sunday in Abuja, the family cited the recent barrage of alleged fabricated stories in the Nigerian media, accusing IPOB of crimes and insecurity in the South-East, as another attempt to link Kanu with violence. The statement categorically stated that the media manipulation always came up each time Kanu’s court date draws nearer to portray him in bad light before the judiciary. I wish to commiserate with millions of Nigerians who either travelled hundred of kilometers to cast their votes or who put so many things on hold in order to cast their votes last weekend, but couldn’t do so. I thank you for your commitment and appeal to you not to lose hope in our electoral system.
I ask you not to allow the unexpected postponement of the election dates by INEC to prevent you from exercising your civic rights. Your enthusiasm for the process and your determination to vote in the election must not be dampened.
I urge all Nigerian voters to brave the challenges and ensure that they cast their votes. This government assures all voters of their protection before, during and after the polls.
I also thank Nigerians for their patience and trust in our government to deliver credible elections where your votes will count. Your votes will count as we are committed to rid our electoral process of vote buying and manipulations.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
