A 14-year old boy who was arrested for sleeping with his three younger sisters aged 10, 5 and 2, has opened up that his step mother knew that he was sleeping with the victims in their home in Oshodi area of Lagos where they reside.
The police have arrested the step mother, Mrs. Ihuoma Okey, and charged her before the court for negligence.
It was gathered that the boy’s mother got separated from the father before the father got married to the step mother and they had the victims.
The boy reportedly did not see the victims as his blood sisters and so started sleeping with them and deflowered them. The matter was exposed when the eldest among the sisters discovered that after the boy had slept with her, he had also slept with her two younger sisters.
She took the matter to their mother who reported the assault to the police.
The matter was transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command and the boy was arrested. At the Command, he then implicated the step mother saying that she was aware.
Both the step mother and the boy were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for different offences.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emerhi, asked the court for order to send the file to DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered the boy to be remanded in prison custody without an option of fine. The court directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 8th April, 2019, for the report of the DPP to be available.
Pressmen  gathered that the step mother knew about the assault but she decided to cover it up in order to protect the victims and the family.
