 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. The APC Nasarawa State wish to express its deepest concern on video clip that has gone viral in the social media which shows Rt. Hon. Godiya Akwashiki, a Senator-elect on the platform of our great party being beaten and stripped naked.
We condemn in the strongest terms this barbaric act. It is unfortunate that this obnoxious act could be meted on a public figure of this high status, no matter the alleged offence.
It behooves on our esteem party to appeal to our teeming members, and supporters to remain calm and law abiding. All and sundry should restrain themselves from taking the law into their hands.
The party has already set machinery in motion with a view to investigating the incident, in order to establish the facts, and truth of the matter.
Be rest assured that any one found to be involved in this unfortunate incident, and is a member of the APC, will be sanctioned in accordance with the party constitution, just as the party will also allow the laws of the land to take it's due course.
We enjoin all those that could be affected by this incident to exercise patience while the investigation is in progress.
