 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. The APC Nasarawa State wish to express its deepest concern on video clip that has gone viral in the social media which shows Rt. Hon. Godiya Akwashiki, a Senator-elect on the platform of our great party being beaten and stripped naked.
We condemn in the strongest terms this barbaric act. It is unfortunate that this obnoxious act could be meted on a public figure of this high status, no matter the alleged offence.
It behooves on our esteem party to appeal to our teeming members, and supporters to remain calm and law abiding. All and sundry should restrain themselves from taking the law into their hands.
The party has already set machinery in motion with a view to investigating the incident, in order to establish the facts, and truth of the matter.
Be rest assured that any one found to be involved in this unfortunate incident, and is a member of the APC, will be sanctioned in accordance with the party constitution, just as the party will also allow the laws of the land to take it's due course.
We enjoin all those that could be affected by this incident to exercise patience while the investigation is in progress.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
