Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode has described the collapsed building incident which claimed the lives of some school pupils at Ita-Faaji as a very unfortunate and sad incident, just as she sent her condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the incident.
Mrs. Ambode lamented the tragic death of the young school pupils describing it as heartrending and prayed for the quick recovery of survivors of the incident.
"As a mother, I feel pained and sad that little pupils in the course of education should meet such a tragic fate”, she said.
Bolanle noted that such a sad occurrence could be averted if property owners adhered strictly to building codes guiding the infrastructure development, stressing that lives were too precious to sacrifice for economic gains.
The First Lady fervently prayed that God comforts the families of the deceased children, quick recovery for the injured and for a stoppage of such tragic occurrence in the State and the entire country.
