Imo Governor Issues 72-Hour Ultimatum to Remove Tints from Commercial Vehicles Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has given commercial drivers operating vehicles with tinted glasses a 72-hour ultimatum to remove them or face severe legal consequences, according to a press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media, Oguwike Nwachukwu. The directive, announced on Wednesday, aims to curb the rising use of tinted commercial vehicles, particularly buses, in criminal activities such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and hit-and-run incidents across the state. Nwachukwu stated that intelligence reports linked these vehicles to the surge in such crimes, prompting the governor’s order. Governor Uzodinma has instructed law enforcement agencies to work with government officials to enforce the directive, clamping down on non-compliant drivers once the deadline expires. ā€œAll bus drivers operating with tinted glasses have 72 hours to remove them or face the full weight ...

Governor Ortom has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to chase criminal elements out of the state in the renewed war against kidnappers and cultists.
The Governor stated this today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi while receiving three rescued kidnapped victims, Mrs Mbaidoove Iorlumun, Yakubu Utim and Aondongu Iorlumun.
He stated that the Benue State Government with the support of security agencies had resolved to fight criminality in the state with renewed commitment and vigour.
Governor Ortom acknowledged the dogged efforts of men of Operation Whirl Stroke in the rescue of the three kidnapped victims from Yandev and Tombu, Gboko and Buruku Local Government Areas respectively.
He stated that major stakeholders from Sankera had resolved after a meeting with the government and traditional rulers to jointly combat crime in the state and the Sankera axis.
Mr. Iorlumun Aondongu from Tombu, who was kidnapped on the 12th of February, 2019 while narrating his ordeal, said his abductors came to his house on that fateful day and took him hostage when they did not find his mother, Mbaidoove, whom they actually came for.
"They first came for my mother and when I told them she was not around, they kidnapped me and put in their vehicle and took me away," he narrated.
According to him, they kept calling his mother to go and rescue him and when she finally showed up with one Mr. Yakubu Utim somewhere in Katsina-Ala axis, they were also taken into hostage.
The kidnap victims stated that they were holed up in a building and fed with only garri and groundnut while a container was given to them for passage of waste.
They said their abductors demanded for money which they did not mention the figure but threatened to eliminate them if the ransom was not paid.
