 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.     Governor Samuel Ortom deeply commiserates with the Board, Management, staff and players of Lobi Stars Football Club, over the death of their Technical Adviser, Coach Solomon Ogbeide who died on Monday, 20th May, 2019 in Makurdi.
The Governor describes the death of coach Ogbeide as a painful loss not only to his family and Lobi Stars, but also to the entire state and country at large.
He says coach Ogbeide's time as Lobi Stars' Technical Adviser brought several success stories to the state among which are the club's emergence as winners of last season's Nigerian Premier League and its qualification for the group stage of the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League.
Governor Ortom says the late football tactician was a humble and hardworking man whose commitment and selfless disposition will be greatly missed by his players and thousands of fans of the club.
The Governor sends condolences to the government and people of Edo, the home state of late coach Ogbeide. He prays God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the strength to bear the loss.
