Anambra State Government to build 10,000 homes for workers The Anambra State Government has announced a major housing scheme aimed at solving accommodation challenges for civil servants and low-income households, with plans to build 10,000 low-cost housing units at Isiagu in Awka South Local Government Area of the state. The project, which will be executed through a Public–Private Partnership arrangement with real estate developers, is expected to take off during the dry season after earlier delays caused by last-minute disagreements between the government and its private partners were fully resolved. According to a press statement released on Saturday, the state Commissioner for Housing, Paully Onyeka, said the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, had long approved the housing scheme, but it was truncated by last-minute bureaucratic bottlenecks, which have been resolved by the state government.
