 EFCC Arraigns Austrian For Undeclared $800,585, €651,505 At Lagos Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Okotie Eboh, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 9, 2026, arraigned one  Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. He was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos.  Onal who was scheduled to travel on Emirates Airline to Dubai, was on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 intercepted  during a routine check at the AML/ CFT Currency Declaration Desk at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

  Theresa May has announced her decision to resign as the British Prime Minister.
Ms May announced on Friday that she will quit as the leader of the ruling Conservative Party and Prime Minister on June 7.
She has been battling hard to get the British parliament to agree to her Brexit deal for the UK to quit the European Union.
She said she had “done my best” to honour the 2016 EU referendum result where Britons voted to leave the EU.
She said it would remain a matter of “deep regret” that she had been unable to deliver Brexit.
Ms May added that it was “in the best interests of the country” to get a new prime minister.Her exit would pave the way for the ruling Conservative Party to choose a new leader who would assume office as prime minister.Ms May is the second female prime minister of the UK, after Margaret Thatcher.
