 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. ZAINAB ALIYU RETURNED TO NIGERIA YESTERDAY FROM SAUDI ARABIA AFTER MONTHS OF DETENTION OF FALSE DRUG TRAFFICKING ALLEGATION.{PHOTOS}.

     Zainab Aliyu, a Nigerian student who was detained in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking, arrived in Nigeria yesterday Monday after four months in detention.
Zainab Aliyu, a 22-year-old student of the Maitama Sule University in Kano, had travelled to Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj alongside her mother and sister.
she was arrested at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, Saudi Arabia in December 2018 because tramadol was found in a travelling bag that had her name tag , a banned drug in Saudi Arabia..She, however, arrived in Nigeria through the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano on Monday in the company of Ibrahim Abubakar, another Nigerian accused of the same crime.
She was released to the Nigerian mission in Saudi Arabia after the federal government made efforts to investigate and establish her innocence.More photos below.
