 SANWO-OLU CELEBRATES EX-FIRST LADY, ABIMBOLA FASHOLA AT 60   Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the former First Lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola, on her 60th birthday, describing her as an Amazon, a selfless giver and an experienced administrator.   He said Abimbola, wife of former Governor of Lagos State and ex-Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), who clocks 60 on Sunday, is beacon of hope, positive energy and development, which she deployed in great proportions towards her pet projects during her tenure as First Lady. CLEARANCE OPERATIONS: TROOPS RESCUE WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN AN AMBUSH ON TERRORISTS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Two women and six Children were rescued on Monday, the 10th of June 2019 from the Boko Haram Terrorists by troops of 121Battalion in conjunction with hunters in an ambush operation against some fleeing members of BHTs at Gwadala village in the North Eastern part of Borno State.
During the operation contact was made with the criminals at Gwadala village axis. Own troops neutralised one of the terrorists, others escaped with gunshot wounds and the following items were recovered:
1 AK 47 Rifle,
1 Dane Gun,
locally fabricated Ammo and Projectiles
The projections for ambushes, clearance operations and fighting patrols are part of the efforts embarked upon by the dogged troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army to consolidate on the gains and successes recorded so far in the ongoing operation "Halaka Dodo" to ensure the remnants of the BHTs are exterminated with the aim of having a lasting peace and security in the North East.
The Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu applauded the gallant troops for their doggedness and also conveyed the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai commendation for the successes so far achieved in the ongoing counter terrorism operations.
Members of the public within the Theatre are therefore urged to cooperate with the Army and other security agencies by sharing credible and timely information to troops in their efforts to fighting terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
