 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. DESMOND ELLIOT WANT FG TO BAN FOREIGN MOVIES FROM ENTERING INTO NIGERIA.{PHOTOS}.

        Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot has called for the federal government to place a ban on foreign films.
Elliot made this remark during an interview with Nigerian cable television channel, HipTV. The Nollywood star, who also doubles as a lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, wants the government to be intentional about the film industry and handle it “like you’re importing rice” by placing a ban on foreign content.
“First they need to create an enabling environment for this industry to thrive. Secondly, they need to consciously, intentionally focus on building the industry. Treat it like you’re importing rice. Okay, you know, so you ban all foreign content. You know, make it difficult for foreign content to come in, so your local content can grow.”.
My Take:
 Dear Honourable Desmond Elliot,if you want the Federal Government to ban Hollywood or other foreign movies,put it in mind that our own Nollywood movies might also be banned in Hollywood and in other foreign countries which will affect sales.Why not concentrate on improving the story lines of our movies ,give room for new actors and actresses,and also use good cameras.Less I forget,since you are part of the government,encourage the government to invest in the movie sector.Thank you and God bless.

    Well honorable Desmond has an oversight of what we are facing in the Entertainment industry. But I don't think placing ban I foreign movies would in any ways bring a solution to the crises we are facing in the industry hence there would be war in the Entertainment industry worldwide. Let there be improvement in our film making and let the Government tender concern.We struggle to produce and struggle to mark our works from one struggle to another and we have Government.

    A ban on Foreign movies or contents can't be a solution to the many challenges in our movie industry.intead it would compound the problems
