  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. POLICE ARREST NOTORIOUS FEMALE ARMED ROBBER TERRORISING ANAMBRA COMMUNITY.{PHOTO}.

    The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, arrested a female armed robber and her accomplice, who have been terrorising Abatete community with robberies and other heinous crimes.

Parading the suspects, spokesperson of the command, Haruna Mohammed, said that on Thursday, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Eziowelle Division in conjunction with Abatete vigilante group arrested duo namely,
(1) Ifeoma Joy Ugegbe alias "Sabath" 'f aged 20 years and,
(2) Ifeanyi Chinweze alias "cheplat" 'm' aged 19 years both from Oranto Ukpo in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one cut -to -size single barrel gun loaded with a cartridge.
The case is under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
