 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court.       The Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM, mni has assured Nigerians of adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
As part of measures toward ensuring a peaceful and incident-free Sallah celebration, the IGP has directed all Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in charge of Zones and State Commands nationwide to deploy adequate operational manpower and equipment to protect all places of public interest, including: shopping malls, motor parks, financial institutions, places of worship and recreation centres to enable holiday makers, worshippers and the general public enjoy optimum safety and security during the season. The IGP in particular has directed that all State Commissioners of Police including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) should put in place strategic and customized security deployment on major highways straddling their Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) to ensure adequate safety for travelers and other road users.
Meanwhile, the IGP heartily expresses goodwill to, and congratulates, all Nigerians especially the Muslim Ummah as they join other Faithfuls all over the world, in celebrating this year’s Eid-el Kabir.
While reassuring the public, especially, worshippers, travelers and all well-meaning citizens that the Nigeria Police will effectively discharge their constitutional responsibility of providing adequate security for all, the IGP advises Nigerians to, at all times, be security conscious and report promptly, every suspicious move by individuals or group to the Police or other relevant security agencies.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
