S. A: FOUR PEOPLE HAVE DIED AFTER A CAR WAS SWEPT AWAY AT AN OVERFLOWING BRIDGE IN THE MAKOTOPONG RIVER NEAR SEBAYENG.(PHOTO).

 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter.     Reigning music sensation and most popular afro hip-hop singer, Naira Marley whose real name is Azeez Fashola has added another feather to his cap.
The organizing committee of 13th Nigeria Media Nite Out Award (NMNA ) has nominated Naira Marley as Next Rated Artiste of the year 2019.
This was confirmed early today by the Publisist of the award, Mr. Murphy Ajibade at a press conference organised by the committee of NMNA.
Speaking at the event, the converner of the epoch making event, Mr. Shola Olugbemiro described the artiste as the best thing that is happening presently in the Nigeria Music industry.“Naira Marley at the moment is the hottest artiste as really deserves the award, the reason our team of professionals decide to honour him with the award” Olugbemiro said.
However Naira Marley has been basking in ephoria of being recognized at the award which will hold at B Event Hall located inside Airport Hotel come 15th September.
Other prominent dignitaries expected at the event are….Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state, Governor of Sokoto, Gov of Kano State, etc.
