 Driver hospitalized after debris falls from Cross Bronx Expressway during morning rush hour   One person was hospitalized Wednesday morning after debris fell from the Cross Bronx Expressway onto a vehicle during the rush-hour commute. The incident happened around 8 a.m. when material came down from the ceiling over a westbound lane of the expressway near the lower-level approach to the George Washington Bridge. Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital, where the person was expected to survive, according to fire officials. Westbound lanes were shut down for much of the day as crews worked to secure and repair the damaged section of the roadway. It was the second debris-related incident on the Cross Bronx Expressway within a week. In the earlier case, dashcam footage captured a large piece of concrete falling from an underpass in front of a vehicle, forcing the car to be towed after sustaining significant damage. UK JAILS 'SAMUEL NWANKWO' A NIGERIAN WHO SWALLOWED 67 WRAPS OF COCAINE BEFORE TAKING A FLIGHT FROM BRAZIL TO LONDON.{PHOTOS}.

       Samuel Nwankwo, a Nigerian resident in Eastfield in Peterborough, UK, who swallowed 67 wraps of cocaine before taking a flight from Brazil to London has been jailed for four years.
He was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court and the drugs were also ordered to be destroyed. He had previously pleaded guilty to one count of fraudulent evasion on the importation of a prohibited Class A drug.
Nwankwo, born 25th November 1991, was stopped by Border Police at Terminal 3 London Heathrow as he alighted from a Latam Airlines flight from Sau Paulo on February 11th 2019.
He had been to Brazil for five days and had no checked baggage with him. He claimed he went to visit his wife and was short on annual leave. A body scan at the airport revealed suspicious shapes inside Nwankwo. He was then taken to a hospital for a CT scan where dozens of concealed packages were identified inside him.
Nwankwo was lucky to be alive after swallowing such a large quantity of cocaine. The CPS takes the trafficking of illegal drugs extremely seriously and will prosecute those who flout drug rules.”.The cocaine found in Nwankwo equated to 67 ‘swallower’ wraps with the average purity of 77.1 per cent.
